School Maps

Put your school in the centre of your own map!

The maps are particularly useful for schools in the investigation of their local area and for the development of children's knowledge and understanding of where they live.

The large scale makes it easy for pupils to locate their schools on the maps, to work out routes and be able to give directions. The maps can be used to locate main features and identify land uses as well as the human and physical features of the area, along with settlement and economic activities. The maps support the requirements of both Key Stage 1 and 2 in this area of the Geography curriculum. They can also be used in conjunction with the map distributed to schools by the Ordnance Survey.

The maps can be installed at 'pupil height' to increase accessibility. We use acrylic glazing as standard in consideration of the safety aspect.

Available in 3 frame options for £155 including Perspex glazing. The price includes a discount of £15 on our usual price.

The Ordnance Survey titles input has a limited number of characters per line, which is quite restrictive. Where customers would like to have more, we print our own text with a black border and add this to the key section of the map. We can therefore adjust the size of the text to accommodate the text required. The titles are only available on maps without mounts and with the key.

The sample opposite should read 'CLAN' , this shows the current maximum character input for each line permitted on the Ordnance Survey site. There are 3 main titles -15 upper case only per line including spaces + 2 sub-titles which can be upper & lower case of approximately 38 characters inc. spaces.

If you would like a photograph on the key section of the map, we would require a 6" x 4" or 5" x 4" print to be sent to us. Please note, the height is not a problem, but we are restricted by the width of the key - approx. 4"/10cm and would need to trim accordingly.
